After nearly four decades, Ethiopia is stepping back onto the global cultural stage with Kin Ethiopia :The Brilliance of Ethiopian Civilization, a vibrant and ambitious artistic campaign aimed at reconnecting the world with the soul of a nation.

In a symbolic echo of the historic 1978 cultural tour Adey Abeba , People to People, which thanked the international community for its humanitarian support, this new initiative seeks to do far more than perform. Kin Ethiopia is a journey of national storytelling  one that weaves music, dance, fashion, and tradition into a diplomatic force of beauty and identity.

This modern revival is made possible through a dynamic partnership between Ethiopia’s Ministry of Culture and Sports, Shakura Productions, and acclaimed Ethiopian musician Kamuze Kassa, who serves as artistic director. The cultural troupe is set to tour BRICS nations , including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa  as well as other influential countries like Egypt and Indonesia.

With a renewed global voice, Ethiopia is telling the world: we are more than history — we are heritage in motion.

Culture as Diplomacy

Launched under the inspiring theme The Brilliance of Ethiopian Civilization, the Kin Ethiopia initiative is not merely entertainment  it is a strategic movement in cultural diplomacy. By sharing its authentic traditions, Ethiopia aims to shape how the world sees its people: proud, diverse, creative, and enduring.

This new chapter celebrates Ethiopia’s living culture. From the rhythms of tribal drums to the elegance of traditional fashion, from circus artistry to poetic storytelling, Kin Ethiopia captures a nation’s essence and presents it with contemporary relevance and global flair.

This tour marks a significant moment in Ethiopia’s evolving international role, especially after joining the BRICS alliance. It signals the country’s determination to move beyond economic statistics and geopolitical headlines and instead, tell its own story, through its own voices.

As the troupe journeys across continents, Kin Ethiopia becomes a living bridge between civilizations, creating person-to-person connections , not through policy, but through the universal language of art.
