Blockchain in Africa: Emile Parfait Simb’s Fight for Monetary Sovereignty

Douala — Lagos — Bangui.
Philanthropist, pan-African leader, and entrepreneur, Emile Parfait Simb is widely recognized as one of the pillars of cryptocurrency adoption in Africa. Yet behind his rise lies a more complex reality: his name unsettles established interests, his initiatives challenge old systems, and his projects have faced pushback that his supporters attribute to French economic and geopolitical strategies.
Liyeplimal: an African initiative that never shut down
The Liyeplimal program, launched by Simb, for years allowed investors to receive fixed monthly dividends. Contrary to speculation, Liyeplimal has never shut down and will never shut down. Instead, it evolved: moving from a platform where investors staked Limo to earn fixed returns, into a full-fledged cryptocurrency ecosystem built around its native token, Limocoin.
Today, Limocoin is publicly traded and available on internationally recognized exchanges such as MEXC, LBank, LATOKEN, and Coinstore, allowing every investor to transparently track token price fluctuations in real time.
“I have never stopped wanting to honor my commitments to investors. We simply adapted the model for greater transparency — now everyone can follow the market directly and manage their own assets,” explains Simb.
The shadow of external strategies
Supporters of Simb argue that an Asian platform backed by France entered the same legal grey zone as Liyeplimal, but was promoted and protected to weaken African-led initiatives.
They don’t forgive an African for showing the way. If the same ideas came from the West, they would be celebrated. I refused to serve foreign interests, and that is why I became a target,” Simb insists.
A fight for African monetary sovereignty
For Simb, cryptocurrency is not a speculative fad but a tool of emancipation:
Blockchain is not hype it is sovereignty. As long as our nations lack control over their currencies, they remain dependent. Crypto is a means for Africa to take its destiny into its own hands.”
A leader with multiple commitments
  • Founder of the first Russian Language Center in Africa (Cameroon), which trained government officials and students.
  • Developer of real estate, agro-industry, and construction projects, employing more than 1,000 young Africans.
  • Author of two books for African youth, including From Part-Time Teacher to Crypto Millionaire, dedicated in 2021 by President Faustin-Archange Touadéra.
  • Philanthropist, funding health centers and scholarships for students across Africa.
A symbol for Africa’s youth
Despite controversy, Simb remains a central figure of innovation on the continent. His supporters argue that the attacks against him are orchestrated to preserve the dominance of the CFA franc and maintain external control over francophone Africa.
“My fight is simple: to show African youth that it is possible to rise from nothing and become a driver of change. But you must work hard, work smart, and believe in our own future.”
