RUSSAFRIK — Accra, Ghana.
During the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the 5th Pan-African Congress, a prestigious medal was awarded to honor a key figure of Africa’s contemporary renaissance.
This gold-embossed distinction, marked with the emblems of the Manchester Congress (1945) and the Accra Conference (2023), bridges the legacy of the founding fathers of Pan-Africanism with today’s renewed struggle for sovereignty and unity.
Mr SIMB’s Message of Gratitude and Determination
Following the ceremony, Mr SIMB shared a heartfelt statement of gratitude:
“I give thanks to God for this new recognition.
I am grateful to all those who believe in my work… and even to those who do not believe in it yet.
The first group encourages me — the second pushes me to work even harder.
We must understand one thing: Africa owes us nothing.
It is Africa that is waiting for us.”
He also stressed the need for a profound shift in mindset:
“If we truly want to change Africa, it would be foolish to expect different results while repeating the same old methods.
We must change.
We must innovate.
We must dare.”
His words echo the spirit of today’s Pan-Africanism — a spirit rooted in responsibility, transformation, and action.
A Medal Carved in History
The 5th Pan-African Congress remains one of the most decisive gatherings in Africa’s liberation struggle.
The medal awarded in Accra honors this legacy and recognizes those who carry that flame into the 21st century.
Its inscription reads:
“To the Ambassadors of Pan-Africanism – 80th Anniversary – Accra Conference 2023.”
A clear message to a new generation of African builders.
Celebrating a New Era of African Leadership
The medal acknowledges the work of a leader actively shaping Africa’s future:
- Advancing Financial and Technological Sovereignty
Developing innovative African-led solutions to reduce dependence and strengthen continental autonomy.
- Promoting Pan-African Integration
Building bridges between African nations and the diaspora through economic, cultural, and strategic initiatives.
- Empowering Youth
Opening pathways toward the skills, careers, and entrepreneurial opportunities that will define the Africa of tomorrow.
- Championing African-Controlled Narratives
Emphasizing the importance of communication sovereignty — telling Africa’s story through African voices.
A Strong Signal for 21st-Century Pan-Africanism
This distinction, recognized by RUSSAFRIK, reflects a powerful vision:
an Africa that leads instead of follows;
an Africa that builds instead of waits;
an Africa that acts instead of asks.
The medal is a symbol but it is also a call.
A call for responsibility, creativity, unity, and courage.
